During Fall semester 2002 Professor Janet Sturman, an ethnomusicologist, created an assignment for students in her Music in World Cultures course. These students worked in small groups to research and report on specific content sections. Dr. Sturman worked closely with the students to ensure that their efforts were of sufficient quality for inclusion in Music of the Southwest.
